Publishing Standards and Procedures

Publishing Policy

Indonesian Journal of Research in Physical Education, Sport, and Health (IJRPESH), an official journal published quarterly by Malang State University, is a peer-reviewed online journal featuring original research and review articles.

The journal is international in nature and is not limited to any geographic region, as for topics (remaining in the scope of the journal) or authors' race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, citizenship, or political ideology. Indonesian Journal of Research in Physical Education, Sport, and Health (IJRPESH) ensures a publication process free of bias.

We would like our authors to be bias-free; therefore, papers that are offensive, violate the law, or infringe on third parties' rights will not be published. Non-stigmatizing and non-discriminatory language should be used when describing different groups by race, ethnicity, age, disease, disability, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, etc.

Manuscripts are considered if they are submitted only to the Indonesian Journal of Research in Physical Education, Sport, and Health (IJRPESH) and should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere, either in part or in whole, in any language, without the consent of the IJRPESH. However, deposition of a preprint on the author's personal website, in an institutional repository, or in a preprint archive shall not be viewed as prior or duplicate publication.

Archiving

The International Journal of Research in Physical Education, Sport, and Health (IJRPESH) stores back issues and current articles following the LOCKSS principle of keeping multiple copies of published content on several servers to ensure long-term preservation and accessibility.

Correction and Retraction

The International Journal of Research in Physical Education, Sport, and Health (IJRPESH) takes its responsibility to maintain the integrity and completeness of the scholarly record of its published content very seriously. Changes to articles after publication may only be made under the circumstances outlined below. IJRPESH places great importance on the authority of articles after publication, and its policy is based on best practices in the academic publishing community.

Erratum

An Erratum is a statement by the authors of the original paper that briefly describes any correction(s) resulting from errors or omissions. Any effects on the conclusions of the paper should be noted. The corrected article is not removed from the online journal; however, notice of the erratum is provided. The Erratum is made freely available to all readers and is linked to the corrected article.

Retraction

A Retraction is a notice that a paper should not be regarded as part of the scientific literature. Retractions are issued if there is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, whether due to misconduct or honest error; if the findings have previously been published elsewhere without proper referencing, permission, or justification; if the work is plagiarized; or if the work reports unethical research.

To protect the integrity of the scholarly record, the retracted article is not removed from the online journal. Instead, a notice of retraction is provided, made freely available to all readers, and linked to the retracted article.

Retractions may be published by the authors when substantial scientific errors are discovered. In other cases, the Editors or Publisher may determine that retraction is appropriate. In all instances, the retraction notice will indicate the reason for the action and identify the party responsible for the decision. If a retraction is made without the unanimous agreement of all authors, this fact will also be noted.

In rare and exceptional circumstances involving legal infringement, the Publisher may redact or remove an article. Bibliographic information about the article will be retained to preserve the integrity of the scientific record.

Publisher's Note

A Publisher's Note notifies readers that an article has been corrected after publication. It is issued by the Publisher and is used in cases where typographical or production errors (for which the Publisher is responsible) affect the integrity of the article metadata, such as the title, author list, or byline, or significantly impact readers’ ability to understand the article.

In such cases, the original article may be removed and replaced with a corrected version. Publisher's Notes are freely available to all readers. Minor errors that do not affect metadata integrity, scientific content, or readers’ ability to understand the article may be corrected at the Publisher’s discretion without issuing a formal notice.

When an article is removed and replaced with a corrected version, the date of correction will be clearly indicated on the corrected article. Authors should note that an original article can only be removed and replaced with a corrected version within one year of the original publication date. Corrections to articles published more than one year earlier will be documented through a Publisher's Note rather than article replacement.

Advertising Policy

The International Journal of Research in Physical Education, Sport, and Health (IJRPESH) maintains transparency and integrity through its advertising policy. Relevant and appropriate advertisements, such as academic conferences, educational programs, and research tools, may be considered for display.

Decisions regarding advertisements are made by the Editorial Board or a designated Advertising Committee based on relevance, quality, and suitability for the journal's audience. Advertisements do not influence editorial decisions, peer review processes, or publication outcomes. Editorial decisions are made solely on the scientific merit, quality, and relevance of submitted manuscripts.

All advertisements are clearly distinguished from editorial and scholarly content and are displayed in designated areas separate from published articles. Advertisements are not linked to specific manuscripts, article content, or reader behavior. They are selected based on relevance to the journal's scope or displayed independently without affecting the visibility of published research.

The International Journal of Research in Physical Education, Sport, and Health (IJRPESH) is committed to maintaining professionalism, ethical standards, and a clear separation between advertising and scientific content. This policy supports editorial independence and safeguards the integrity of the scholarly record.
