JADECS (Journal of Art, Design, Art Education, and Cultural Studies) contains scientific articles on research, conceptual ideas, assessments, creations, and learning related to art, design, multimedia, and culture. Articles published prioritize analysis of research results of artistic practices, art education and learning classroom research, and/or socio-cultural studies related to art, design, and multimedia. This journal is follow the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

About Journal's Name
JADECS; is committed to advancing research in arts, design and cultural studies that are relevant to Indonesian and Southeast Asian contexts. At the same time, the journal welcomes contributions from other countries.
Journal History
JADECS was first published in 2016, in July for its first edition. Afterwards, the journal has consistently published two numbers every year until now and was successfully indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), enhancing its international visibility.
Since 2016, editorial leadership is under Prof. Ponimin, M.Hum as Editor-in-Chief. The editorial board has expanded from Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) only editors to a more diverse active editors from across Indonesia and spread globally.
In 2025, the journal started using OJS3, then starting 2026 the editorial board decided that it would be more accessible with Digital Commons.
In 2022, the journal completed another round of national re-accreditation and once again retained its status as a “Rank 2” (Peringkat 3) scientific journal under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia.

Publication Schedule
JADECS’ first edition in 2016 was published once in July, since 2017, this journal is published two times a year (April and November) consistently.
Language
The journal is publishing in both Indonesian and English language to expand its accessibility to different audiences and readers.
Digital Archiving
To ensure the long-term and permanent accessibility of published content, the articles are archived in CLOCKSS, ensuring long-term accessibility of its published content.
Each article is also assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) from CrossRef, providing a permanent and reliable means of citation and retrieval.

Revenue Sources
This journal is financially supported through institutional support and author fees. We ensure that the availability of institutional funding or the payment of author fees, or even waiver status, does not influence editorial decision-making in any way. All submissions undergo a rigorous and impartial peer-review process to uphold the highest standards of academic integrity
