Abstract

Background: Students may experience difficulties in learning flat-sided solid geometry because three-dimensional objects are not always easy to visualize through conventional learning materials.

Objectives: This study aimed to develop STAR-G (Sites and Augmented Reality for Geometry), a learning medium integrating Google Sites and augmented reality (AR), and to examine its validity, feasibility, and changes in students’ learning interest after its use.

Methods: This research employed a research and development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The product was validated by two material experts and two media experts and was tested with 20 Grade IX students at MTs Assalam Bangilan. The instruments included expert validation sheets, a student feasibility questionnaire, and pretest and posttest questionnaires measuring learning interest.

Results: The material and media validation scores were 3.80 and 3.90, respectively, while the feasibility score was 3.56. The reported N-Gain of learning interest was 0.58, categorized as moderate.

Conclusions: These findings indicate that STAR-G received favorable expert assessments and student feasibility ratings, accompanied by an increase in reported learning interest after its use. However, the one-group design without a comparison group limits causal interpretation, and the study does not establish an improvement in students’ spatial ability.
