About Journal's Name

Jurnal Inovasi dan Teknologi Pembelajaran literally means “Journal of Innovation and Instructional Technology”. The use of the Indonesian language in the title signals the journal’s regional focus and its commitment to advancing research that is relevant to Indonesian and Southeast Asian contexts. At the same time, the journal welcomes contributions from other countries when their findings offer insights that can inform or enhance innovation and instructional technology practices in Indonesia.

Journal History

Since its establishment in September 2014, the Jurnal Inovasi dan Tekologi Pembelajaran (E-ISSN 2654-7953), abbreviated as JINOTEP, has functioned as a media publication for research on innovation and learning technology, which is of common interest to scholars and students in various fields. It is committed to encouraging diversity in area coverage, chronological ranges, and methodological approaches. In the April 2019-July 2022 edition, JINOTEP used the name written on ISSN PDII LIPI with the full name JINOTEP (Jurnal Inovasi dan Teknologi Pembelajaran): Kajian dan Riset dalam Teknologi Pembelajaran. Whereas in the November 2022 edition, it changed to Jurnal Inovasi dan Teknologi Pembelajaran (JINOTEP): Kajian dan Riset dalam Teknologi Pembelajaran adjusted to the naming on ISSN 2.0 on the portal ISSN including in BRIN ISDB. Then, in March 2023, JINOTEP only wrote down the main title without abbreviations and subtitles, so the name became Jurnal Inovasi dan Teknologi Pembelajaran. This change had been communicated to the ISSN BRIN manager and the admin from Arjuna. The complete development of the JINOTEP in detail is as follows:.
  • On September 21, 2014, JINOTEP was first published in the printed version with ISSN 2406-8780 and the full title, JINOTEP (Jurnal Inovasi dan Teknologi Pembelajaran): Kajian dan Riset dalam Teknologi Pembelajaran. 
  • On December 12, 2017, JINOTEP started using the Open Journal System.
  • January 2018, JINOTEP Editor in Chief is Prof. Dr. Punaji Setyosari, M.Pd., M.Ed.
  • On August 9, 2018, JINOTEP received the electronic ISSN 2654-7953.
  • In December 2018, JINOTEP changed the article template. 
  • On March 20, 2019, JINOTEP unsuccessfully indexed DOAJ due to the limitations of the editorial board member and the confused license statement. Then we make corrections to the suitable inclusion criteria for the next submission. 
  • July 2019, JINOTEP Indexed by Dimensions.
  • August 2019, JINOTEP, indexed by Crossref.
  • In October 2019, JINOTEP just changed the cover design, web page header, and logo.
  • October 2019, JINOTEP Indexed by GARUDA.
  • On November 12, 2019, JINOTEP indexed SINTA 4 by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and High Education. 
  • December 2019: some JINOTEP articles cited in Scopus (Secondary article).
  • January 2020, JINOTEP Editor in Chief is Saida Ulfa, M.Edu., Ph.D.
  • In January 2020, JINOTEP changed the latest article template.
  • January 2020, JINOTEP Indexed by ROAD.
  • February 2020, JINOTEP Indexed by WorldCat.
  • On February 21, 2020, JINOTEP has a MoU with APSTPI.
  • April 2020, JINOTEP Registered in ResearchGate.
  • May 2020: JINOTEP Indexed by the PKP Index.
  • June 2020, JINOTEP Indexed by the BASE.
  • In 2020, JINOTEP published 3 editions to adjust the issue number for the following year.
  • On February 3, 2021, JINOTEP was officially indexed by www.neliti.com.
  • On May 2, 2021, JINOTEP was officially indexed by the ICI Index Copernicus International.
  • In June 2022, JINOTEP changed the "article template".
  • In August 2022, JINOTEP changed its abbreviated position from JINOTEP (Jurnal Inovasi dan Teknologi Pembelajaran): Kajian dan Riset dalam Teknologi Pembelajaran to Jurnal Inovasi dan Teknologi Pembelajaran (JINOTEP): Kajian dan Riset dalam Teknologi Pembelajaran in accordance with https://portal.issn.org/resource/ISSN/2654-7953. This change has an impact on the naming changes on the website and article templates.
  • On October 14, 2022, JINOTEP collaborated with Ikatan Profesi Teknologi Pendidikan Indonesia (IPTPI) with a MoU.
  • On February 5, 2023, JINOTEP re-applied to be indexed by DOAJ.
  • On February 22, 2023, JINOTEP applied to be indexed by Scopus and Web of Science.
  • On March 28, 2023, JINOTEP changed its abbreviation and sub-title name in the journal title name from Jurnal Inovasi dan Teknologi Pembelajaran (JINOTEP):Kajian dan Riset dalam Teknologi Pembelajaran to Jurnal Inovasi dan Teknologi Pembelajaran in accordance with https://portal.issn.org/resource/ISSN/2654-7953. This change has an impact on the naming changes on the website and article templates.
  • On July 31, 2023, JINOTEP indexed SINTA 3 by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.
  • On November 20, 2023, JINOTEP was successfully indexed by the Asian Science Citation Index.
  • On November 21, 2023, we reapplied for DOAJ: Directory of Open Access Journals. 
  • On February 23, 2024, finally, JINOTEP was successfully indexed by DOAJ: Directory of Open Access Journals.

Publication Schedule

Jurnal Inovasi dan Teknologi Pembelajaran was first published in 2014. Prior to 2020, the journal has been published regularly three times a year in March, July, and November.

The journal has been publishing exclusively in English since July 2022. Prior to that, the journal published articles in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
