Abstract

This study aimed to develop and evaluate a Seudati Culture Fusion-based digital flipbook designed to strengthen cultural literacy and humanities learning outcomes among Grade V elementary school students. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) design using the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The development process was grounded in the need to provide culturally responsive digital teaching materials that connect classroom learning with local identity, social practices, and students’ lived experiences. The study involved Grade V students, classroom teachers, and expert validators consisting of content, media, and language experts. Data were collected through observation, interviews, expert validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, learning outcome tests, and documentation of classroom implementation. The validation results showed that the developed flipbook obtained an overall mean score of 4.42 out of 5, equivalent to 88.5%, and was categorized as very valid. Practicality assessment showed an average score of 88.4%, indicating that the flipbook was very practical for classroom use. The effectiveness analysis showed an increase in the mean score from 62.40 in the pre-test to 84.60 in the post-test, with an N-gain value of 0.59, categorized as moderate to high. These findings indicate that the Seudati Culture Fusion-based digital flipbook is valid, practical, and effective in supporting culturally contextual humanities learning. The integration of local cultural narratives, digital interactivity, and reflective learning activities contributes to more meaningful learning, stronger student engagement, and improved cultural literacy in elementary education.
