Abstract

This study examined the effect of Nahwu mastery based on Nazm Al-‘Imrithi on the ability to comprehend Fathul Qarib among students of Darussalam Islamic Boarding School, Kartasura. A quantitative survey design was employed involving 25 Imrithi-class students selected through saturated sampling. Data were collected using achievement tests and analyzed using Pearson Product-Moment correlation. The findings showed that students’ Nahwu mastery was categorized as very good (M = 80.24), while their ability to comprehend Fathul Qarib was fairly good (M = 78.80). The correlation coefficient was 0.4768, indicating a positive and moderately strong relationship. Nahwu mastery contributed 22.73% to students’ comprehension ability. These findings demonstrate that mastery of Nahwu through Nazm Al-‘Imrithi supports students’ understanding of classical Islamic texts.
