Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify the values of Adat Ammatoa’s local wisdom in pre serving forests that will serve as a geography’s learning resources. This study is a qualitative study with ethnographic approach. Data about Local wisdom values of Adat Ammatoa retrieved from observa tions and interviews of Adat Ammatoa’s people. Data analysis was performed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and verification. Result of this study is forest conservation of people in Adat Ammatoa always respect Pasang’s law. The values of Adat Ammatoa’s local wisdom is important to known by student. So that the values can be used as a main learning re sources in teaching geography.
