Publication Ethics Statement

Jurnal Pembelajaran Sains (JPSi) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. All parties involved in the publication process — including authors, editors, and reviewers — are expected to adhere to ethical principles based on the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Duties of Editors

Publication Decisions

The Editor-in-Chief of JPSi, in collaboration with the editorial board, is responsible for making final decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of submitted manuscripts. Decisions are based on the academic merit, originality, relevance to the journal’s scope, and the results of the peer-review process. All evaluations are conducted fairly and without discrimination regarding authors’ background, affiliation, gender, or beliefs.

Confidentiality

Editors must treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents. Information about a manuscript should only be shared with the corresponding author, reviewers, and editorial team as necessary. Unpublished materials must not be used for personal research without written consent from the author(s).

Conflicts of Interest

Editors must avoid handling manuscripts in which they have any conflicts of interest, whether personal, professional, or financial. In such cases, the manuscript will be reassigned to another qualified editor to ensure an unbiased review process.

Ethical Oversight

Editors are responsible for ensuring the integrity of the publication process. They must address any suspected misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, or ethical violations, in accordance with COPE guidelines. Appropriate actions may include corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern.

Quality Assurance

Editors ensure that all published content meets high academic and ethical standards. Research involving human participants must demonstrate appropriate ethical approval. Any errors or inaccuracies identified after publication must be corrected transparently.

Duties of Reviewers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Reviewers assist editors in making informed decisions and provide constructive feedback to improve manuscript quality. Reviews must be objective, professional, and focused on the scholarly content of the work.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts under review must be treated as confidential. Reviewers must not disclose or discuss the manuscript with others without permission from the editor.

Conflicts of Interest and Timeliness

Reviewers should decline review assignments if they have conflicts of interest or lack the necessary expertise. Reviews should be completed within the agreed timeframe to ensure an efficient publication process.

Acknowledgment of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors and report any similarities or potential ethical concerns to the editor.

Duties of Authors

Reporting Standards

Authors must present their research accurately and objectively. Data should be reported honestly without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate manipulation. Authors may be asked to provide supporting data for verification.

Originality and Plagiarism

All submitted manuscripts must be original works. Proper citation of sources is required, and any form of plagiarism is unacceptable and will result in rejection or retraction.

Multiple Submission

Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Submissions to JPSi must be exclusive until a final decision has been made.

Authorship

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the research. All co-authors must approve the final manuscript prior to submission. The journal encourages transparency in author contributions.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that may influence the research. All sources of funding must be clearly stated.

Corrections and Retractions

If authors identify significant errors in their published work, they must promptly inform the editor and cooperate in issuing corrections or retractions as necessary to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
