Abstract

The development of digital learning resources has become increasingly important in elementary education to support twenty-first-century competencies, particularly creative thinking. In Indonesian language learning, poster-making activities provide opportunities for students to express ideas through verbal and visual elements; however, classroom practices are still often dominated by teacher-centered instruction and limited use of interactive media that accommodate diverse learner needs. This study aimed to develop a Project-Based Learning (PjBL)-based digital module for poster-making to support the creative thinking skills of third-grade elementary school students. The study employed Design-Based Research (DBR), consisting of four stages: needs analysis, design and development, implementation, and evaluation. The module was developed by integrating PjBL stages with age-appropriate digital guidance, multimedia elements, and structured scaffolding to support varied student abilities. The results indicate that the module achieved high feasibility based on expert validation, strong practicality as reflected in positive student responses, and effectiveness in improving students’ creative thinking, as shown by increased post-test scores (N-gain = 0.58, moderate). Improvements were observed across all indicators of creative thinking, including fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. These findings suggest that integrating digital modules with PjBL can provide a more engaging, structured, and inclusive learning experience. The developed module, therefore, has strong potential as an innovative instructional resource in Indonesian language learning, particularly for poster-making activities that foster creative thinking in diverse elementary classrooms.
