About this Journal
Jurnal Kajian Pembelajaran Matematika, number e-ISSN: 2549-8584 (online), is a scientific journal published by Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) since April 2017. It has been indexed by Sinta 4. The aim of this journal publication is to disseminate research results and new theories that have been achieved in the area of mathematics education.
Jurnal Kajian Pembelajaran Matematika, particularly focuses on the main issues in the development of the sciences of mathematics education and mathematics. Jurnal Kajian Pembelajaran Matematika published two times a year, April and October. It contains scientific articles written in English or Bahasa Indonesia. This publication is available online via open access. Abstracts and full text that have been published on the website can be read and downloaded in (https://citeus.um.ac.id/jkpm/) for free.

Peer Review Process
Jurnal Kajian Pembelajaran Matematika applies blind peer review process for each manuscript which involves editors and 2 (two) reviewers.
Publication Frequency
The Jurnal Kajian Pembelajaran Matematika is published twice a year (April and October).
Types of Articles
Jurnal Kajian Pembelajaran Matematika publishes the following types of contributions:
- Original articles: Reports of significant empirical or theoretical research in science education and related fields.
- Short communications: Brief reports of high-impact findings, limited in length (≤3,000 words).
- Review articles: Comprehensive syntheses of research developments on relevant topics.
- Mini reviews: Concise summaries of emerging trends or perspectives in the field.

Author Guidelines
Before Submission
- The manuscript is original and not simultaneously submitted elsewhere.
- The study adheres to ethical standards and includes ethical clearance if applicable.
- The manuscript is written in grammatically correct English or Bahasa Indonesia (English is preferred).
- All references follow APA 7th Edition style and figures/tables are submitted separately with sufficient quality.
Online Submission
Manuscripts should be submitted via the online system through the Jurnal Kajian Pembelajaran Matematika journal website. Only one corresponding author is permitted. Submissions via email are not accepted unless otherwise instructed.
Initial Evaluation
All manuscripts undergo initial checks for format, scope, and ethical compliance, including plagiarism detection (Turnitin, ≤20%). Manuscripts that do not meet basic criteria will be returned without review.
Submission Declaration and Verification
By submitting, authors confirm the work is original, unpublished, approved by co-authors, and not under review elsewhere.
Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
1. Title: The title should describe the contents of the manuscript, with a maximum of 16 words.
2. Author's identity: The author's name should be accompanied by the author's institutions, without the academic title. For a joint paper, one of the authors should be identified as the corresponding author.
3. Abstract: The abstract should be written within 150 -200 words. It should provide clear and accurate information, and contains background or gap analysis, objectives, methods, results or findings, and the conclusion of the research. Keywords consisting of 3-5 words should accompany the abstract.
4. Introduction: The introduction should provide clear and concise information about the background or motivation to research, the importance of the topics and current problem (gap analysis). All statements must be supported by the latest reference from journal articles. This section should also provide the relevant research problems and objectives, relevant research hypothesis (if any), and the importance or contribution of the research to the field. This section also should describe the critically analyzed literature review from relevant references. Then, stated the summary of the literature review and its implications to the problem investigated (novelty). The conceptual framework is also suggested to describe in this section. A conceptual framework represents the relationship expected between variables in the study. It is highly recommended to describe the literature review and the conceptual framework in a separate subsection.
5. Methods: The methods must provide information about how to solve the research problems in detail. Generally consists of type and design of the study, the research setting, research subjects/participants (population, sample and sampling), research procedures, data collection techniques, the validity of the data (if any), and data analysis techniques.
6. Findings: The findings presents the results of the research in the form of tables, charts, diagrams, or narratives were then given meaning or description of any research results are presented.
7. Discussion: The discussion contains a description of the researchers on the study results either as expected or not as expected. The researchers also must described the significance, important, or relevance of the findings to the field of the study. Then compare the findings by previous studies that mainly had been published in reputable scientific journals or use the literature.
8. Conclusion: The conclusion provides concise information about what was gained from the research that has been done. In addition, this section should also provides the implications and limitation of the study. Then give a clue to undertake further studies related to the findings.
9. Acknowledgment: Include an acknowledgment if parties have made a significant contribution in funding and/or provided support to the research.
10. Bibliography: The bibliography contains at least 25 references with most of them from reputable international journals. In addition, 80% of the references must published within the last ten years. The references from textbooks should be minimized. The bibliography is written using APA style format 7th edition. The authors should also use reference manager software such as Mendeley to arrange the bibliography. The DOI of all references (if any) must be included.
Table
Tables are sequentially numbered with the table title and number above the table. Tables should be centered on the page. Elements of a table should be single-spaced, however, 1.5 pt spacing can be used to show groupings of data or to separate parts within the table. Table should be written in 10pt. Tables are referred to in the text by the table number. Do not show vertical lines in the table. There is only a horizontal line that should be shown within the table.
Figure
Figures are sequentially numbered commencing at 1 with the figure title and number below the figure. Detailed recommendations for figures are as follows:
- Ensure that figures are clear and legible with typed letterings.
- Black & white or colored figures are allowed.
the submission in an appropriate format as follows: BMP, JPG, PNG.
Equations
Equations should be numbered serially within parentheses. Equation should be prepared using MS Equation Editor (not in image format). The equation number is to be placed at the extreme right side.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy
Jurnal Kajian Pembelajaran Matematika adheres to ethical publishing standards aligned with international best practices. Authors may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in manuscript preparation under the following conditions:
Acceptable Use
- Language editing (grammar, clarity, readability)
- Improving manuscript structure
- Limited idea generation support
Mandatory Disclosure
Any use of AI must be disclosed in the manuscript (Acknowledgments or a dedicated section).
Example: “The authors used [AI tool name] to assist in language improvement. All content remains the responsibility of the authors.”
Prohibited Use
- Listing AI as an author
- Generating scientific content without verification
- Fabricating data, results, or references
- Plagiarism or improper paraphrasing using AI
Author Responsibility
Authors are fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their manuscript, including any AI-assisted content.
Editorial Rights
The editorial team reserves the right to request clarification or reject submissions that do not comply with this policy.
Revised Manuscript
Revisions must include responses to reviewers and be submitted within 2 months.
After Acceptance
Accepted papers proceed to typesetting. Authors will receive proofs for review.
Proof
Proofreading must be completed within 48 hours. Only minor corrections are allowed.
Supplementary Materials
Supplementary files may be submitted and will be published without editing.
Author Fee
This journal charges the following author fees.
Article Submission: 0.00 (IDR)
Authors are required to pay an Article Submission Fee as part of the submission process to contribute to review costs.
Article Publication: 500000.00 (IDR)
If this paper is accepted for publication, you will be asked to pay an Article Publication Fee (Rp 500.000) to cover publications costs.
Journal History
Jurnal Kajian Pembelajaran Matematika was first published in 2017. The aim of this journal publication is to disseminate research results and theories that have been achieved in the area of mathematics education. Since 2017, the editor started to manage Jurnal Kajian Pembelajaran Matematika in online and open-access with Open-Access Journal System (OJS). Since 2026, the journal upgrade to Digital Commons and move to new website at https://citeus.um.ac.id/jkpm/.
