Abstract

This research has the goal developing statistics and probability module based of Problem Based Learning which has the character of validity, practice, and effective for informatics engineering students. The module is developed using Plomp (2010) model. The steps of developing consist of (1) preliminary research, (2) prototyping phase, and (3) assessment phase by using validity questionnaire, practice questionnaire, pre-test and post-test. The results on the module test are on very valid category with a score of 97.02%, very practical category with a score of 87.5%, and very effective category with a score of 86.33%. The module has been in accordance with the curriculum, problem based learning approach, and has a good illustration supporting material. The developed modules have been able to support the implementation of learning activities such as the short story section can be delivered at the time of learning apperception and chronology can be a motivation at the beginning of learning. Modules are able to encourage students' curiosity about the topics to be studied. This shows that the module is able to improve students' learning motivation so that student learning outcomes also increase.
