Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop teaching materials in the form of Student Activity Sheets (LKS) characterized by guided discovery and assisted graphic applications on material quadratic functions for class X Vocational Schools which are valid, practical and effective. Development of teaching materials characterized by guided discovery was chosen because based on the results of researcher observation, learning activities need to be supported by the presence of teaching materials so that students can be active in learning. While the use of the graph application is expected to help students discover the concept of characteristic graphs of quadratic functions and direct the results of technological sophistication in learning. The development step refers to the Plomp development model (2010: 15). The first step, the preliminary research, was carried out by the researcher by conducting classroom observations until the conclusion was obtained that there was a need for teaching materials to characterize guided discovery and assisted graphics applications in material learning quadratic functions. The second step, the prototyping phase, is done by designing, then validating worksheets, lesson plans and research instruments. The third step, the assessment phase, is carried out by testing the practicality and effectiveness of teaching materials in learning. Based on the results of the development obtained teaching materials in the form of worksheets characterized by guided discovery and assisted graphic applications on material quadratic functions for class X Vocational High School which are valid, have a high practicality value and a good level of effectiveness.
