Abstract
The developed teaching material in this study is in the form of a research-based textbook on silkworm Bombyx mori L hormone. It was aimed to develop the textbook on animal development course that will be used as one of supplementary learning textbook for students of S1 Biology Department of State University of Jember. The development of this textbook deployed the Hannafin and Peck developmental model which consists of three phases: (1) Needs Assessment (Analysis Purposes Phase), (2) Design (Design Phase), and (3) Developing/ Implementing (Development and Implementation Phases). It is a developmental model of instructional design which is oriented to products. The data were obtained starting from the needs analysis, product design, product manufacturing, and product validation. The instrument used to collect the research data development used a questionnaire and interview guidelines. These data were analyzed descriptively. The results of the analysis showed that this textbook has met the eligibility requirements. The feasibility of a limited test of individual students was 94.7% which was obtained with a valid category, the test feasibility of media experts obtained by 93.35% with a valid category, and the test feasibility of material presentation of 98.89% with a valid category and appropriate to be used.
