Abstract

This study aimed to (a) improve the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN Klanderan in the 2015/2016 academic year and (b) increase students’ learning activities. The subjects of the study were 21 fourth-grade students of SDN Klanderan, Kediri. This research was a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in three cycles, each consisting of two meetings. Each cycle included four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The study was considered successful if at least 85% of the students achieved a score of ≥ 70. The results showed that: (1) students’ learning mastery in Cycle I reached 57.14% with an average score of 70.24, in Cycle II reached 71.42% with an average score of 73.57, and in Cycle III reached 85.71% with an average score of 85.04; (2) students’ activity scores in Cycle I reached 70%, in Cycle II reached 85%, and in Cycle III reached 90%.
