Abstract

Scientific approach-based learning which is currently on going can be implemented if it is supported by the learning components arranged based on Curriculum 2013, one of them is learning material such as students’ book. Most of the students’ books which are distributed and used by most of the senior high school students are not based on the scientific approach, so a further study is needed to be conducted. The study on this book was conducted to analyze whether the materials of the book have represented the steps of the scientific approach or not. This research belongs to the content analysis. This research was conducted by analyzing the materials using descriptive analysis method based on the criteria of scientific learning’s assessment in Curriculum 2013. According to the research’s result and discussion, it can be concluded that the scientific approach has not been delivered ideally; there are some principles which have not been given that makes geography learning will not go well. Based the finding mentioned, it is suggested to add the scientific steps which are suitable in discussing the materials.
