Abstract
Students' low species literacy and limited awareness of plant diversity highlight the need for contextualised learning media based on local plant resources. This study aims to develop, assess the feasibility, and evaluate the effectiveness of an e-pocket book on Angiospermae diversity in Ghimbo Pomuan Sacred Forest, Kampar, Riau, Indonesia, as an innovative learning tool for higher education. This e-pocket book was developed using the Lee & Owens multimedia development model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The feasibility test results showed that this e-pocket book was rated as very valid with an average score of 95.00% from material and media experts, and 95.23% from the practitioner's assessment. The practicality test by students showed an average score of 90.00% in the convenience category. The effectiveness test showed increased species literacy and plant awareness in the experimental class, with N-Gain values of 0.6621 and 0.6403, respectively, in the medium category and higher than those of the control class. These results indicate that the e-pocket book improves species literacy and plant awareness. This media can support biology education that is contextual, relevant, and aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 15.
