Abstract

Many vocational graduates are not absorbed in the world of work so that it will increase the number of unemployed. Mechanical aptitude tests should be held before students go to prakerin, in order to place students on a department that they like. Besides other factors that may affect job readiness is a prakerin. Prakerin with adequate facilities, is expected to vocational students would be able to develop science and technology. This study uses a quantitative approach to the type of cross-sectional research ex-post facto. The population in this study were students of SMK Lightweight Vehicle Engineering Expertise in Malang academic year 2015/2016 which has been carrying out prakerin is class XI. The number of population, namely (1) SMK Negeri 6 Malang; (2) SMK Negeri 10 Malang; (3) SMK Negeri 11 Malang; and (4) SMK Negeri 12 Malang as many as 406 students and 200 students obtained by calculation Slovin. The results of the simultaneous contribution is 10.9%. While the calculation of the partial between mechanical aptitude towards work readiness of 1.9% and a qualifying place prakerin against 8.3% job readiness.
