Abstract

Based on the experience of teaching for at SMPN 01 Bang Haji, there are still many who have difficulty in understanding the two-variable linear equations. This study aims to improve student learning outcomes and students' active learning in the classroom. This type of research is classroom action research (PTK) with two cycles, the first cycle consists of nine meetings, and the second cycle 6 meeting. The subjects were 24 students of class VIII, 6 men and 18 women. Research activities on the 16th of January until 17 March 2017. The learning activities by implementing cooperative learning TGT. The results showed that the application of cooperative learning TGT has been performing very well, active student learning derived from the observation and questionnaires at the high category and good and student learning outcomes reached 87.5% of students had reached a value of ≥ 70.
