Abstract
This research aims to assess the four values in text pappaseng, four values are acca (skill), lempu (honesty), warani (courage), and getteng (commitment) which can be absorbed into the concept of character ideal counselor. This research used a qualitative approach with data, analysis and interpretation follows the rules of hermeneutics Gadamerian. The research finding indicate (1) acca (skill) refers to aspect of intelligence and competence that is characterized by conceptuan thinking, communication skills and problem solving, logical thinking (2) lempu (honesty) refers to aspects of skill interpersonal relationship characterized by trusthworthy, respect the right of other, humble, prosocial and obedient to God, (3) warani (courage) refers to the aspect of mental strength counselor, characterized by readiness and emotional stability, (4) getteng (commitment) refers to the counselor’s commitment to upgrade his self and his professional attitude.
