Abstract
This research purposes to describe scientific instruction using manipulative media to improve student’s conceptual understanding on addition and substraction of integers. This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The results showed that through observing, questioning, experimenting, reasoning, and communicating stages of scientific instruction can improve student’s understanding of mathematical concepts by 8.6% and the thoroughness of learning outcomes by 11.11% thereafter two cycles.
