Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop thematic teaching suplementary materials for year V focusing on poetry. These materials were used with mind mapping and also the environment as learning resources. The materials were validated in terms of content, language, and layout later, the materials were tried out to 6 elementary students in small-scale validation and to 40 students in the large-scale validation. The trial results demonstrate the feasibility of teaching materials have a high level. The average validity got 90.025, the attractiveness 91.80, the effectiveness 92.75 and the practicality 92.18. So it is recomended be implemented as a supporting source in the learning activities, especially in studying poetry.
