Abstract

This study was aimed to produce complement book material for short stories appreciation course that satisfied some aspects in the term of content, presentation, linguistic and display as well as (2) to describe the effectiveness result of the complement book of short stories appreciation course based on the field trials. The developing model used in this study was adapting the research model of Research and Development (R&D) by Borg and Gall. The product was validated by experts; short stories expert, short stories appreciation expert, and material design expert. The result of the product validation, then, divided into four aspects, such as content, presentation, linguistic, and display. Based on the validation, it showed that the product was accepted well by the students. It can be seen from the mean of the posttest, 70. So it can be concluded that the product was effective and can be applied in the teaching learning activity.
