Abstract

Mastery of concepts and students argue are related to each other. This study aims to see the correlation between conceptual mastery and students' argument ability in science learning with argument based inquiry application. Data obtained from the results of pretest and postest conducted on 39 students of class VII A Taman Dewasa Probolinggo City. The result of concept and students' argumentation ability score showed correlation on medium criterion that is 0, 40—0,59. The correlation result was obtained from the correlation of mean score of the students to the concept mastery of 7.12 and the mean score of students' argument ability from the two categories were 21.02 and 17.07.
