Abstract

The development rate was hampered by high population growth, uneven distribution and the explosion of the young population which one of them caused by early marriage. The effort in maturing the age of marriage to decrease the number of early marriage, need to involving the local wisdom in the society. One of local wisdom in Tengger Tribe to maturing the age of marriage is Catur Guru consept. The purpose of this research is to reveal the meaning of Catur Guru in maturing the age of marriage. The research design is qualitative research with Alfred Schutz phenomenological perspective. The research result revealed that Catur Guru play an important role to maturing the age of marriage in Tengger Ngadisari Tribe, so there is no longer an early marriage happen. Advice from the results of research maturing the age of marrige should not only a policy that issued because certain interest, but also must formulated based on the local wisdom owned by the community.
