Abstract
This research was aimed to know the difference of understanding the concept and motivation of student learning which is taught by Think Pair Share model in the experimental class and the students who are taught by the group work model in the control class. This study used quasi experimental design with nonequivalent control group design using pretest-postest test scores. Research data obtained through test and motivation questionnaire in the form of statement. The results showed that (1) there is a significant understanding of concept concepts between students who learn through Think Pair Share learning with students who learn through cooperative learning without syntax, (2) there is a difference of understanding of the concept significantly between high motivation and low motivation students, and (3) interaction between learning model and learning motivation to understanding student concept.
