Abstract
This research tries to construct multiculturalism knowledge in integrated thematic textbook based on multiculturalism indicator. The outlines of indicators of multiculturalism outline consist of (1) an appreciation of the reality of cultural plurality in society, (2) recognition of human dignity and human rights, (3) development of world community responsibility, and (4) development of human responsibility towards Earth. The four indicators of multiculturalism are spelled out in units of Teks Ayo Membaca, Teks Latihan, dan Teks Literasi. The method used in this research is hermeneutic Ricoeur. Based on the four descriptions of indicators of multiculturalism found a number of developments that make up the construction. The construction of multiculturalism formed can be likened to a building consisting of foundation (Indonesian diversity), pole (fourth indicator of multiculturalism, and roof (equality).
