Abstract

This study is descriptive qualitative that aims to know the empirical evidence about the implementation of guidance and counseling at Public Elementary School Sungai Miai 5 Banjarmasin. The results showed that the implementation of guidance and counseling refers to the results of understanding of students. The strategy implemented consists of: integrating guidance and counseling materials into the subject matter, choosing appropriate methods and media, remedial, building empathic communication, modeling, giving appreciation and reinforcement, identifying and selecting helping program, and divert handling. The teacher competence needs to be improved so that the implementation of guidance and counseling can be programmed well.
