Abstract
Mathematics is a science that is rich concept, where the concept of one another have relevance. In connection with the concept, there is a common mistake made by students are misconceptions. The misconception is that most fatal errors compared to other errors. Because he tends to defend himself when he was given awarning. So the study has the aim to describe misconception that occurs in radical numbers. Subjects in this study were junior high school students of class IX who have misconceptions on radical numbers based on the results of diagnostic tests misconception comes with a confidence level of students in working on the problem. The results showed that students have misconceptions on the concepts and properties that exist in the form of roots.
