Abstract
This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the program in improving students’ conceptual understanding. Research subjects were 21 first year Physics Education undergraduate students. Students’ conceptual understanding was assessed through the pretest given after lecture on fluid and posttest given after the use of a recitation program. The results showed that students' conceptual understanding improved significantly with the N-gain of 0.29. The number of problem and multi-contexts problem are the factors causing the success of the recitation program in improving students' conceptual understanding.
