Abstract

This paper aims at improving the retention of learners with the use of virtual reality based learning media for solar system topic. The research method used was the 4D Development Model. The results of research were virtual reality reality (VRTS) media products validated by media experts, materials and field application and tested by individuals, small groups, large groups and field trial. The validity test results concluded VRTS media is very valid. The results of trials on aspects of attractiveness and practicality was considered very interesting and practical. The results of product effectiveness concluded that the VRTS media can increase the retention of learners with the average score of the experimental class 79,2 and the control class 62,3 and also the percentage of concept comprehension which reaches 100% in experiment class and 77,3% in control class.
