Abstract
This research aimed to increase the beginning reading skills of first grade students of SD Inpres 2 Oepura Kupang by using inductive model of picture words. The student achievement was measured by using reading test and observation. The results showed that the use of the inductive model of picture words could increase the beginning reading skills of the students.
