Abstract

Teaching science as inquiry is one of the ways to increase student thinking skill. Furthermore, factual and contextual phenomena is needed in inquiry. Analysis of ovulation rate gene research is suitable phenomenon to teach genetics as inquiry. This study is aimed to develop inquiry genetics instructional design based on analysis of ovulation rate gene research. The instructional design had been validated by science/educational experts, and education practitioners (genetics lecture). The results of the validation showed the following scores: 100% (very valid) for material expert, 94,7% (very valid) for the learning expert, and 80% (valid) for field practitioner.
