Abstract
The results of a preliminary study conducted at Children Center Brawijaya Smart School UB Malang shows the character of independence is one of the things that is highlighted in daily habituation. The school carries out programmed activities that are carried out at any time to develop children's independence. This type of research used in this research is qualitative research. Research results obtained from the method of habituation and behavior of children in school through 3 activities, namely routine activities, spontaneous activities, and programmed activities. Programmed activities carried out through the class picket program which is carried out 5 minutes after learning is finished. Through this habituation can encourage the habit of independence in children.
