Abstract

This study purposed to describe the basic formation and characteristics of female leadership communication styles in primary schools. It used qualitative approach with multi-case design. The research locations are SDIT Robbani Singosari, SDK Santa Maria 1 Malang, and SDN Sumbersari 1 Malang. Data collection techniques were interviews, observation and documentation using individual case and cross-case data analysis. The results are (1) the basis formation of female leadership communication styles are characteristics members, culture and philosophy’s institution, philosophy of leadership, internal and external factors of principals, and (2) characteristics of female leadership communication styles namely open, inclusive, and assertive communication styles.
