Abstract

Treffinger's model has provided an alternative to learning geography. The purpose of this research to find out about the effect of Treffinger's learning model in improving critical thinking skills. The research is design used a quasi-experimental with pretest and posttest design. This research was conducted on students in class XI IPS 1 and IPS 2 MAN 1 Kota Malang. The results of analysis using Mann-Whitney U Test showed of 0.193 > 0.05 and had a gain score of 17.91 in the experimental class and 3.83 in the control class. Based on the gain score, the Treffinger model has an effect on improving critical thinking skills in class XI IPS MAN 1 Kota Malang.
