Abstract

This research aims to determine the differences in self-efficacy and learning achievement between students who learn with PDCA metacognitive strategy assisted by learning journal (PDCA-JB) and students who learn with conventionally on hydrocarbon materials. The reasrch subjects were grade 2nd science students of Senior High School of Boyolangu in the 2020/2021 school year. The instruments used were multiple choice questions (r = 0.869) and self-efficacy questionnaire (r = 0.722). The result shows that there is a significant difference in self-efficacy and learning achievement between students in PDCA-JB class and the conventional class. Based on N-gain score and d-effect size value, the self-efficacy and learning achievement of students in the PDCA-JB class were higher than those of conventional class.
