Publication Ethics Statement
The Journal of Language, Literature, and Arts (JoLLA) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher involved in the publication process.
This journal follows the ethical standards and guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Duties of Editors
Publication Decisions
Editors evaluate submitted manuscripts based on their academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Editorial decisions are based solely on the scholarly value of the manuscript and reviewer recommendations.
Fair Play
Editors evaluate manuscripts without regard to the authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
Confidentiality
Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and editorial advisers.
Conflict of Interest
Editors must not use unpublished information disclosed in submitted manuscripts for their own research without the author’s explicit written consent.
Duties of Reviewers
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review assists editors in making editorial decisions and helps authors improve the quality of their manuscripts. Reviewers should provide objective and constructive feedback.
Confidentiality
Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shared or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.
Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate, and comments should be supported by clear arguments.
Acknowledgement of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors and inform the editor of any substantial similarity between the manuscript under review and other published works.
Conflict of Interest
Reviewers should decline reviewing manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest with any of the authors, institutions, or organizations connected to the research.
Duties of Authors
Reporting Standards
Authors should present accurate accounts of their research and provide an objective discussion of its significance. Data should be represented truthfully and accurately.
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original and properly cite or quote the work of others. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable.
Multiple or Concurrent Submission
Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time.
Authorship
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the research. All co-authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that could influence the interpretation of their research results.
Corrections and Retractions
If an author discovers a significant error in their published work, they must promptly notify the journal editor and cooperate in correcting or retracting the article.
Publisher Responsibilities
The publisher, Faculty of Letters, Universitas Negeri Malang, supports editors and reviewers in maintaining the integrity of the publication process and ensures that editorial decisions remain independent of commercial influence.
