Aims
The Journal of Language, Literature, and Arts (JoLLA) aims to advance scholarly knowledge and foster interdisciplinary dialogue in the fields of language, literature, library and information management, and the arts. The journal serves as an academic platform for disseminating original research that contributes to theoretical development, methodological innovation, and evidence-based practices across these disciplines.
JoLLA seeks to promote critical inquiry, intellectual exchange, and innovative perspectives on linguistic, literary, cultural, artistic, and information-related phenomena. Particular emphasis is placed on research that addresses contemporary issues, explores interdisciplinary connections, and contributes to the advancement of scholarship in local, national, and global contexts.
Scope
JoLLA welcomes original empirical, theoretical, conceptual, and interdisciplinary research within the following seven principal areas:
01 Linguistics and Language Studies
Research on language structure, meaning, use, variation, acquisition, and development, including sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, pragmatics, discourse analysis, semantics, and related linguistic approaches.
02 Applied Linguistics and Language Education
Studies addressing language teaching and learning, language assessment, curriculum development, multilingualism, translation and interpreting, language learning technologies, and innovations in language education.
03 Literary Studies and Criticism
Research on literary texts, theories, criticism, comparative literature, literary history, narrative studies, and the relationships between literature, society, identity, and cultural transformation.
04 Cultural and Media Studies
Studies examining cultural practices, representation, identity, popular culture, digital media, communication, and the interactions between language, literature, arts, and contemporary cultural developments.
05 Library and Information Management
Research concerning library science, information organization, knowledge management, digital libraries, information literacy, information services, and the management, preservation, and dissemination of scholarly and cultural information.
06 Performing and Visual Arts
Studies on music, dance, theatre, fine arts, visual communication, design, artistic expression, performance analysis, and the preservation, interpretation, and transformation of artistic traditions and contemporary practices.
07 Arts Education and Creative Practices
Research on arts pedagogy, creative learning, artistic production, arts-based research, curriculum innovation, and the integration of creative practices and technologies in educational and cultural contexts.
Interdisciplinary Emphasis. JoLLA particularly encourages interdisciplinary research that establishes meaningful connections among these areas and offers significant theoretical, methodological, empirical, or practical contributions to the advancement of language, literature, information studies, and the arts.
