Abstract
Mastery of Arabic vocabulary is an essential aspect of language learning, especially for seventh-grade students who are still in the early stage of learning Arabic. However, low learning motivation and students’ lack of enthusiasm in memorizing vocabulary remain major challenges in the learning process. Therefore, innovative and enjoyable learning media are needed to increase student engagement. This study aimed to develop an interactive game-based word card media to support Arabic vocabulary mastery among seventh-grade students. The research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research subjects were seventh-grade students of MTs Surya Buana Malang. Data were collected through test and non-test techniques, including pretest, posttest, observation, teacher interviews, media expert validation questionnaires, material expert validation questionnaires, and teacher response questionnaires. The validation results showed that the media obtained a feasibility score of 93% from media experts and 80% from material experts. In addition, the comparison between pretest and posttest scores indicated an improvement of 69%. Therefore, the word card media was declared highly feasible and effective in improving Arabic vocabulary mastery among seventh-grade students of MTs Surya Buana Malang.
