Abstract

Analysis of needs assesment aims to determine problems that occur in biology science learning activities of Junior High Schools in Samarinda. Goals of this analysis are to determine teacher’s understanding level related to learning tools that already exist, the appropriate application of learning models and problems of students. Sample observation in this analysis are science teachers of biology science subject at SMPN 35, SMPN 6 and SMPN 4 Samarinda. The results of observations showed 66.66% of teachers have problems in applying the learning model, all teachers said students prefer not to ask in learning. How that can be taken to solve the problem is by applying Think Talk Write learning model, but no one of teachers understand the syntax of Think Talk Write learning model. From the observations in the form of biology science teacher problem analysis in Samarinda City, it can be concluded that the experience and ability of teachers to solve the problems in learning is needs to be improved.
