Abstract

The art of Islamic calligraphy has great potential in integrating Islamic values in learning, but has not been fully utilized optimally in formal education. Phenomena in the field show that most students have an interest in the art of calligraphy, but have not fully understood the relationship between the practice of calligraphy with Islamic values contained in it. This study aims to analyze the process of integration of Islamic learning values through calligraphy art media and identify Islamic learning values that are integrated through calligraphy art learning at MTS Terpadu Berkah Palangka Raya. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation involving 18 students from Grades 7 to 9. The results showed that the process of integration of Islamic learning values through the art of calligraphy at MTs Terpadu Berkah Palangka Raya succeeded in developing students ' visual-spatial and spiritual intelligence, as well as strengthening their understanding of Islamic values. The process of integration of Islamic values through calligraphy learning has been successfully implemented through a variety of comprehensive learning approaches, where the values that are successfully integrated include the value of beauty (aesthetics), patience, discipline, skill development, and spiritual values that are interconnected in shaping the character of students
