Abstract
Research and development that has been carried out by researchers has the aim of producing supplement books with encyclopedia patterns in cultural diversity material and knowing the effectiveness of supplement books with encyclopedia patterns using the EE (Environmental Education) approach. The process of developing teaching materials uses the Borg & Gall model and the implementation of teaching material supplements with encyclopedias using the EE approach with a form of trial or teaching using Serial Position Effect. Based on experiments carried out to validators, the value of Indonesian language validators was 78.3%, material experts by lecturers 90.53%, material experts by teachers 89.48% and design experts 95% with an average of 88.33%, meaning very feasible. While the research for the results of the students' comprehension tests in the post-test by using the product with the EE approach encyclopedia pattern and the pre-test without using the EE approach got very different results. The results in the pre-test get low scores and the post-test scores get medium and high criteria scores. Not only the value obtained but the sense of love for local wisdom, sensitivity to environmental problems, solutions to solve environmental problems awakened, and the ability to remember the material presented. So that for the feasibility of using the product and the effectiveness of the product is feasible to use and can be disseminated in learning.
