Abstract

Writing poetry is a skill that is considered difficult because it requires practice to write. The reason is because of the lack of learning that leads to the practice of writing poetry in the classroom with the help of adequate teaching materials. The need for teaching materials in the form of modules and appropriate learning strategies to help students learn independently practice writing poetry. The innovative module presents a variety of material so students get new knowledge through the presentation of material in the module. The addition of environmental insights can also provide new knowledge about the importance of maintaining, respecting and preserving the environment. In addition, the use of the 5M strategy that describes concrete verbs will guide and facilitate students in writing poetry.
