Abstract

This study aims to describe and describe students scientific literacy Archimedes law. This research was conducted at Ambulu Public High School with 34 students in the XI MIA 5 class. Data was collected through tests. The student scientific literacy test instrument in the Archimedes law uses three essay questions with Cronbach’s alpha reliability 0.548. Scientific literacy of students is at a nominal level, which means students mention scientific concepts and explain understanding but misconceptions. Scientific literacy of students because students can't be associated knowledge with the phenomenon and teacher not accustomed to using his knowledge on scientific phenomena so that the learning applied learning materials do not link with everyday life.
