Abstract
The research objective is to produce a character-based thematic module with a scientific approach to grade V elementary school. This study uses the Dick and Carey development model. The results showed that the product had a very valid criterion of 88% from the judgment of material, language and design experts. Very practical criteria of the implementation of learning by 92%, teacher response by 96% and student responses by 89%. Very effective criteria from the results of the pre-test score of 60.50 increased significantly in the post-test score of 85.14 or 86% of students achieving mastery learning. Very interesting criteria of 89%. The results showed that this thematic module had met the requirements for use in learning.
