Abstract
This study aimed to develop a mystery box learning medium supported by a clock-face board for teaching angles to fifth-grade elementary school students. The study was motivated by the limited use of concrete learning media in mathematics instruction, particularly for angle concepts, which contributed to students’ difficulties in understanding the material and participating actively in classroom activities. This research employed the Research and Development method using the ADDIE model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The developed product was a mystery box learning medium equipped with a clock-face board and an integrated protractor. The product was validated by two media experts and two subject-matter experts and was subsequently tested with fifth-grade students and a classroom teacher at SDN 1 Kalidawir. The validation results showed an average score of 98.6% from the media experts and 97% from the subject-matter experts, both of which were classified as highly valid. The practicality assessment obtained scores of 94.5% in the small-group trial, 93.4% in the field trial, and 100% from the teacher, all of which were classified as highly practical. These findings indicate that the mystery box learning medium supported by a clock-face board is valid and practical for use in teaching angle concepts to fifth-grade elementary school students.
