Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to Journal of Innovation and Teacher Professionalism undergo a double-blind peer review process. Each submission is initially evaluated by the editorial team to determine its suitability with the journal’s focus, scope, and basic editorial standards. Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to independent reviewers with relevant expertise.
Reviewers assess the manuscript based on originality, methodological rigor, relevance to the field, clarity of presentation, and contribution to scholarship in teacher education and professionalism. The final decision to accept, revise, or reject a manuscript is made by the editors based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the journal’s editorial standards.
Publication Ethics
Journal of Innovation and Teacher Professionalism is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. The journal follows ethical publishing principles consistent with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
This policy applies to all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher.
Duties of Authors
- Authors must ensure that their work is original and has not been published previously or submitted simultaneously to another journal.
- Authors must present accurate data and an objective discussion of their findings. Fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting is unacceptable.
- All authors listed on a manuscript must have made significant scholarly contributions to the work.
- Authors must properly acknowledge the work of others and cite all relevant sources.
- Any financial or personal conflict of interest that may influence the research or its interpretation must be disclosed.
- Authors are responsible for obtaining ethical clearance where required and for ensuring that their research complies with applicable ethical standards.
- Any use of generative AI tools must be disclosed transparently and must not replace the authors’ intellectual contribution.
Duties of Reviewers
- Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents.
- Reviews should be conducted objectively, fairly, and constructively.
- Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
- Reviewers must not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
- Reviewers must not upload, share, or process manuscripts using generative AI tools or third-party systems that may compromise confidentiality.
Duties of Editors
- Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
- Editors must evaluate manuscripts without discrimination based on race, gender, nationality, religious belief, institutional affiliation, or political philosophy of the authors.
- Editors must ensure the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and the integrity of the review process.
- Editors must not use unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript for their own research without written consent of the author.
- Editors must take appropriate action when ethical concerns are raised regarding a submitted or published manuscript.
Duties of the Publisher
- The publisher supports the editors and editorial board in maintaining academic integrity and ethical publishing practices.
- The publisher ensures that commercial or institutional interests do not influence editorial decisions.
- The publisher is committed to preserving the scholarly record and supporting the correction or retraction of articles when necessary.
Publication Malpractice Statement
Publication malpractice, including plagiarism, citation manipulation, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate submission, redundant publication, and undisclosed conflicts of interest, is not tolerated. When misconduct is suspected, the editorial office will investigate the case in accordance with established ethical standards and, where relevant, the guidance of COPE.
If misconduct is confirmed, appropriate action may be taken, including manuscript rejection, publication of corrections, retraction of articles, and notification to the relevant institutions or authorities when necessary.
Plagiarism Screening
All submissions are subject to plagiarism screening prior to peer review. Manuscripts found to contain substantial similarity, unattributed quotation, or improper paraphrasing may be rejected immediately. Authors are expected to ensure that their manuscripts are free from plagiarism and that all sources are properly cited.
Open Access Policy
Journal of Innovation and Teacher Professionalism provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. All published articles are accessible without subscription or paywall barriers.
Archiving
The journal ensures long-term digital preservation of its published content through recognized archiving systems, including CLOCKSS. This archiving arrangement supports permanent accessibility and preservation of the scholarly record.
Article Processing Charges (APC)
An Article Processing Charge (APC) of IDR 500,000 is applied to accepted manuscripts in accordance with institutional regulations for SINTA 4 accredited journals. This fee supports editorial management, peer review administration, production, and publication services. No submission fee is charged.
Copyright and Licensing
All articles published in Journal of Innovation and Teacher Professionalism are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA) license.
Authors retain copyright of their work while granting the journal the right of first publication and distribution. Users may share and adapt the published material provided that appropriate credit is given to the original authors and the journal, and that any derivative works are distributed under the same license.
