Abstract
This study aimed to improve student learning outcomes and active participation at SDN Bareng 1, Malang Regency. It employed classroom action research conducted in three cycles. The participants included all students and teachers involved in the lessons, as well as the principal, who provided input through interviews. Guided teaching practice was carried out by student teachers with Grade III-A students. The findings showed that student engagement increased and contributed to improved learning outcomes from Cycle I to Cycle II. This improvement resulted from the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PBL), in which students completed worksheets and planned and carried out project tasks in groups. Through PBL, students became more active in discussion and collaboration and developed greater responsibility for their tasks. The study demonstrates that PBL can significantly improve student engagement and learning outcomes. By encouraging active participation, PjBL creates a more dynamic and meaningful learning environment. The model is therefore recommended as a learning strategy for improving participation and academic achievement in elementary schools.
