Abstract
To describe the learning function of the composition and inverse function with realistic mathematics approach, conducted research with the following objectives. (1) Knowing how to study the composition and function of the inverse function with realistic mathematics approach can improve learning outcomes math class XI student of SMAN 1 Lubuk Want Jaya, and (2) determine how students' response to the learning function of the composition and inverse function using a mathematical approach to realistic , This research is a classroom action research with qualitative approach. The experiment was conducted in class XI-1 SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Want Jaya. Interviews were conducted with selected 3 students with different academic abilities, consisting of high-ability students, medium, and low. The results showed most students were able to resolve the problem properly given in LKS. Based on the results obtained by the observation that the percentage of the average score is 86.25% of student activity or are in the very good category, most of the students participate and be actively involved in working on worksheets, ask questions, discuss, and give feedback. Results of the final test showed students who obtain a minimum value of 65 is 90% of the total number of students in the classroom.
