Abstract

The aim of this research was to study the effect of Structured-Inquiry and 5E Learning Cycle Models on scientific process skill and cognitive learning outcome in Biology of 8 grade junior high school students in Malang with different academic capabilities. A quasi-experimental research of pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group had been applied in this study. The data of pre and post test, then analized using Anacova. The results showed that both 5E learning cycle dan structured-inquiry models are potential to improve students’ science process skills in both low and high academic capability students. 5E learning cycle model is a good model, because it can alleviate the science process skills and cognitive learning outcomes of low academic capacity students unto the similar level of high academic capability students’ achievements.
